City of Ghosts is a landmark animated mini-series from Emmy Award-winning director Elizabeth Ito (Welcome to My Life, Adventure Time). Set among the sprawling neighborhoods of Los Angeles, the show features a revolutionary hybrid visual style mixing photography, paintings, 3D animation and 2D animation. Chromosphere collaborated with Elizabeth to develop the look of the show, from early design exploration and animated tests to creating a complete production pipeline structure to bring the vision to life. Our studio provided production design services for the series including background paintings, character designs, 2D animation, 3D animation, and also composited the final picture, incorporating all of these assets as well as 3D animation from production partner TeamTO.
